Slave-trade Abolition & Leytonstone House: the Sansoms, the Buxtons and Black History.

Claire Weiss with co-authors, Peter Ashan and Geoff Nichols speak about their recently published book about Leytonstone House and its slave-trade abolitionist resident Philip Sansom. They will offer glimpses of Black history including the 1866 visit by former enslaved Black African Princess Aina Sarah Bonetta Davies to the Buxton family, and details of Black people who lived in 18th century Leytonstone.
